Who are we?

Bronwyn Fox

Bronwyn is the author of the Australian best selling book, "Power over Panic", and the companion book, 'Working Through Panic'. Both books are based on her Programs and Workshops which won an Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Award.

Bronwyn developed panic disorder /agoraphobia to the point she was housebound for over 2 years. She recovered using Mindfulness Meditation in 1985 and has been working in the area of Anxiety Disorders since then.

As Anxiety Disorders had only been recognised by the Medical Profession since 1980, there were no resources available in the community. Having personally experienced panic disorder/Agoraphobia Bronwyn became involved in working with other people who also had an anxiety disorder.

Bronwyn was co-founder of the Panic Anxiety Disorder Association (PADA) in 1987. PADA is a consumer group which provides education, information, referral and runs Bronwyn's panic anxiety management workshop under license from her.

Her workshops have been funded by the South Australian Health Commission's Rural and Remote Services since 1990 and enables PADA to provide much needed services in these areas. From small beginnings in South Australia, Bronwyn has helped form similar Associations in every State in Australia.

Bronwyn was also a co-founder of the Anxiety Disorders Foundation and was Deputy Chairperson of the Foundation.

While Bronwyn is no longer with PADA she still works closely with them and advocates for appropriate treatment services for people with anxiety disorders both at a State and Federal level.

Bronwyn conducts her Panic Anxiety Management Workshop around Australia, in every capital city though currently she is writing two new books. The demand for the Workshop is extremely high. PADA received acknowledgement of her work when it won the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Achievement Award for Non Government Services for her Workshop.

Her Workshop has also been assessed by a leading anxiety disorder specialist and researcher, Associate Professor Julian Hafner, as being 85% effective for people who experience an Anxiety Disorder. Over 300 people who experienced an Anxiety Disorder participated in the study. Participants in the study showed a significant decrease in symptoms at a 3 month follow up.

Carolyn Barker

Carolyn Barker had Social Anxiety/Agoraphobia for over twenty years and also recovered using mindfulness meditation. Carolyn has been with the Panic Anxiety Disorder Association for thirteen years and is Co-ordinator of the Association Inc. PADA has become the largest National organisation for people with anxiety disorders. Along with Bronwyn she was a co-founder of the Anxiety Disorders Association Inc and her knowledge of anxiety disorders is extensive.

Vicki Winter

Vicki Winter had Panic Disorder / Agoraphobia for over 20 years. Vicki used now recovered and is the facilitator of our email support group. Vicki's commitment and dedication to the group has been enormous and of great benefit to support group members. Vicki has also been on the committee of PADA for a number of years.

Jasmine Arthur - Jones

Jasmine Arthur - Jones worked with Bronwyn and PADA for a number of years. Jasmine designed our original website in 1997. Although Jasmine ran the panic anxiety management workshops for PADA, her main expertise is in research and two of Jasmine's research projects are presented on our site. Jasmine has now returned back into the world of research and analysis and we wish her well for the future.
